InterALIA May 2007

ALIA SA's monthly online newsletter

From the Convenor

Winter seems to be here finally and we are all enjoying the rain and the new growth in our gardens after a summer of water restrictions! ALIA SA has also undergone some growth in the last months. We have been pleased to welcome 2 new student members to the ALIA SA committee - Carolyn McEwan and Melaina Tate. You can meet them in this months "InterALIA Asks" column.

Thanks to all of you who came along to celebrate Library and Information Week at the ALIA SA Quiz night, proudly sponsored by Civica. A special thanks to those of you who embraced the theme of "70" for ALIA's 70th Birthday this year - you can see the photos of the night at our ALIA SA Flickr page at http://www.flickr.com/photos/73398664@N00/

The Basic 101 Workshops on Web 2.0 technologies are continuing to be popular. Due to demand, we will be holding an additional Blogging 101 Workshop on June 20th - check the ALIA e-lists or web calendar for more details.

Watch this space for news about the 2007 South Australian Library Achiever of the Year, proudly sponsored by Raeco. Thanks to all those who submitted nominations.

In other news, our Local Liaison Officer, Fiona Butcher, will be on maternity leave until October - we wish her all the best!
