ALIA NSW - Information Literacy and Community Empowerment Dr Alex Byrne, UTS university librarian and president of IFLA, will talk about Information Literacy and Community Empowerment. City of Sydney Library (Customs House), 5:30pm to 7:30pm.

Group communications

At the meeting on 28 February 2006 the group decided that it wishes to change it's name, from ALIA NSW to ALIA Sydney. It was felt the name ALIA Sydney was a more accurate reflection of the group's identity and capacity. The title ALIA NSW infers a much broader constituency than our group currently possesses and implies an advocacy role that our small group is not able to address.

Draft statement of intent 2006

ALIA Sydney Group was established to provide cross sectoral networking events for ALIA members in the Sydney region. The Group aims to mount 3 - 4 events a year covering a diverse range of topics with general appeal to library and information professionals, paraprofessionals and students. We aim to organise one non-CBD based event this year.
