ALIA NSWJanuary-June 2003 reportThe NSW Forum has been relatively inactive during the first six months of 2003 and has only responded to call s for assistance when made by ALIA National Office. A meeting of the executive and the local presence officer, Sue Grimes, Jillian Beswick and Joanne Fuller was held on 10 March and the future of the group was considered. It was decided to forgo the monthly meetings that had followed from the days of ALIA NSW Branch and to ask for expressions of interest in the Group via e-mail. This did not bring an overwhelming call to resume the meetings for the meetings sake. ALIA NSW Forum was called upon to represent ALIA at some events during this time. Sue Grimes, representing ALIA, attended the University of NSW Faculty of Commerce and Economics Scholarships and Prizes Ceremony night on 6 May and presented the ALIA prize for the top academic performance in the Master of Information Management or Master of Commerce, in the area of information and library management. The winner for 2002 was Jocelyn Anne Willbond. Kevin Dudeney represented ALIA at the Sydney Institute of Technology Prize-giving in March and Diane Oliver; a retired member of ALIA Branch Council was the Forum's representative in judging NSW public library promotion activities. |
