Agriculture and Environment Interest Group

Our Group was formed to promote sharing information between librarians involved in agricultural and environmental libraries throughout Australia. We have established an e-list which, while not heavily used, has been used by members to ask for help, and to circulate new ideas.

A small group of our members got together over lunch at the Specials conference, and a similar get-together is planned for ALIA2002.

We had not originally planned to have a print newsletter, but now consider that we should do one general mailing to all members to let them know about the e-list, and generally welcome them to the group. We are therefore applying for funding for this, for January-June 2002.

As a new group, we are still finding our feet, but the basic aim of information sharing will remain our focus.
