Events for July and beyond

RSVP? It means what it says. Sometimes organisers of an event MUST know what numbers to expect. If they request an 'RSVP' and you plan to attend, please oblige them.

Wednesday 6 August, 5:30pm. The ACT regional meeting of the ALIA National Policy Congress will be held in the NLA Fourth Floor Conference Room. Each ALIA group is asked to nominate one representative to attend the regional meeting. Other members may attend as observers. Monday 11 August, 2:30pm. PEARLS. BOOKPLATE at the National Library of Australia. Anyone with library connections who has retired (or is about to retire) is welcome to join our informal group to enjoy delicious refreshments and conversation.

Wednesday 13 August, 5:30pm. The ACTive ALIA meeting this month will be held at the AIATSIS Library, Acton Peninsula. Doreen Mellor, Director Development Public Programs National Library of Australia, will speak on 'Cross-cultural protocols: enjoying both difference and common ground'. Barbara Lewincamp, the AIATSIS Library Director, is arranging a tour of the library to follow the talk. Thursday, 21 August, 5:30pm. ACT Library Technicians At Waldorf on London Restaurant (on London Circuit) for coffee or a drink. This is an opportunity to get together for those attending the Library Technicians Conference in Brisbane in September. But whether you are going to the conference, or still thinking about it, or if you would just like to come along to catch up with fellow techs, you are most welcome to join us! Breaking barriers: reaching users in a digital world The 8th Interlending and Document Supply International Conference aims to encompass new ways to deliver services to users as well as ways to make our operations more efficient.
