ALIA ePortfolio Practice

The ALIA ePortfolio Group has been established to inform, promote and develop ePortfolio practice in the LIS profession. This group will provide support for LIS professionals beginning and using ePortfolios; and align ePortfolios with formal and informal learning, professional development and long term work goals. The group also seeks to provide an avenue to demonstrate LIS professionals’ capabilities for future and ongoing employment

Join the ePortfolio Trial

Would you like to trial a free ePortfolio to see how it works and if it is for you? PebblePad have joined with ALIA to kindly allow personal members of ALIA to have a free trial version of PebblePad Classic to use for one year.

You will need to be prepared to complete a questionnaire about how you use your ePortfolio, but we promise it is painless.

The trial will be audited for usage in July each year at the same time as the PD Scheme and your will then be able to choose to transfer your data to a personal subscription or to another platform. If you choose to leave the trial and NOT transfer your data, your ePortfolio will be sealed forever and you will not be able to access your data.

This is an opportunity to use an ePortfolio to reflect and plan your career plan and to develop an effective Professional Development plan. You can save artefacts and evidence of PD to use not only for your own use but also for your employment evaluations and for the ALIA PD Scheme.

All you need to do is send a request to Rebecca.randle@live.com.au with your full name, your ALIA membership number and the email address you wish to use for registering your ePortfolio. Rebecca will send you the first questionnaire which must be completed and then you login details will be sent to you. You then have until the following July to explore and develop your ePortfolio. On June 30th your usage will be audited i.e. how many times you have used PebblePad and the last time you logged in. We do not look at any of your content (in fact it is not possible). We will then advise you that you need to subscribe to PebblePad+ or move your data. We will also send you a final questionnaire which we hope you will complete.

The ePortfolio eList will help you to mine the knowledge and experience of other users, some who have their own ePortfolio for professional practice. So please send questions to aliaeportfolio@lists.alia.org.au and join the discussion.
