7. Encourage research and the use of research results in the sector (Object 2 and 3)

7.1 implement the Research Fund and grant research awards
7.2 identify priority practice areas where research is needed and pursue opportunities for research to be conducted in these areas
7.3 increase participation in the Research Exchange and Partnership (REAP) program and the ALIA e-prints archive
7.4 encourage research partnerships with library schools

  • Support programs and activities for research awards
  • Mentoring to assist members in preparing award applications
  • Mechanism in place for identifying priority topics for research
  • Promotion of active involvement in REAP and ALIA e-prints by institutions and sector peak bodies
