The ALIA National Advisory Congress 2008

Program for regional meetings

This year's NAC regional meetings will focus on one of ALIA's 2009 priorities - Professional Development. We will also continue to celebrate the successes of the Association, its groups and members.

The topics for this year's program for the regional meetings include:

1. Professional Development - an ALIA priority for 2009
2. Review of Education and Workforce Summit outcomes
3. Celebrating success stories
4. Local issues

Members are encouraged to read the ALIA Planning Consultation 2009 paper , PD Submissions and make comments at a regional meeting. Comments can also be made via our online submission form or by emailing us on planning@alia.org.au.nospam (please remove '.nospam' from address).

In 2008 ALIA will continue with the two-tier model for the National Advisory Congress (NAC). All regional meetings are invited to select someone from the meeting to attend the ALIA National meeting.

The national meeting will be held in association with the Dreaming08 conference - a half-day national meeting on the afternoon of 1 September 2008. Representatives from the regional meetings attending the national meeting should be delegates who are already attending the conference as no funding support is available for travel. ALIA will provide $200.00 funding for accommodation to each regional representative (14 members) for the Monday night (1 September 2008).
