Recommendations from the 2001 National Policy Congress

Recommendations were voted on by the raising of hands.

The ALIA 2001 National Policy Congress recommends that the Board of Directors:

  1. Publish and promulgate its guidelines, services and assistance available from National Office for groups wishing to organise professional development activities [including conferences, workshops and seminars]
  2. Vote: no dissent
  3. Publish and promulgate its rationale for the new conference model(s), including choices available to groups in proposing conferences, workshops and seminars
  4. Vote: no dissent
  5. The 2003 Special, Health and Law Libraries Conference continues as originally endorsed

Vote: one dissent [Margie Anderson]

In addition to these recommendations, delegates suggested:

  • that the Board of Directors outline their reasons for introducing the new conference model in the ALIA journal inCite.
