11 February 2009 Teleconference – Summary

There were two main topics discussed at the meeting.

Firstly the ShareIT wiki was discussed and secondly developing the plan for holding an ILL/DD Satellite event in conjunction with the IFLA conference 2010.

The group discussed the promotional strategy for the wiki and also the rollout of presentation to user groups throughout the country. Since it may not be possible for ALIA ILLAC members to attend all user groups other options are being considered. Presentations were planned for Victoria, Queensland, New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory.

The ALIA ILLAC has worked on a proposal to hold a Satellite event in conjunction with the IFLA conference. The proposed ILL/DD Satellite event would be held on Wednesday 11 August in Sydney. The AC is currently gathering information on possible venues, duration of the event, costs, and topics for the program, etc.

This project will be a major event for the Committee.

In addition a number of issues were also discussed. There has been some progress in understanding the problem with Relais libraries delivering copies to the VDX DocStore. A possible solution has been developed by Relais and is currently being tested. Libraries Australia is currently working with OCLC to ensure holdings information appears in OCLC. And the Committee is investigating options to ensure the correct Copyright information appears in VDX requests sent to suppliers.
