Proposed Seminars on Standards Developments

A successful update seminar was run in Wellington in conjunction with the November meeting. The Australian meeting is proposed for Melbourne on12 August 2004.

AICTEC Standards & Interoperability Committee (ASIC)
I have recently been appointed to this Committee representing Standards Australia. The aim of ASIC is to maximise the use of preferred standards in the development of online education resources and the delivery of educational services across all sectors of education and training in Australia. The imminent cloning of the Dublin Core metadata element set and the IEEE LOM may provide a real opportunity for cross-sectoral harmonisation of resource discovery metadata.
