- Jan Richards, at her final Board meeting as President and Board Chair, thanked the Board and ALIA members for their support and commitment during the past year
- ALIA's submission, letter of support and appearance at the public hearing for the Inquiry into School Libraries and Teacher Librarians in Australian Schools is important and valuable advocacy, and issues will continue to be followed up throughout this year
- The ALIA Disaster Recovery Project was completed with the launch of a new ALIA Guide to Disaster Planning, Response and Recovery; and templates for ALIA Disaster Planning for Libraries
- Catherine Knight was the winner of the Aurora Scholarship this year and provided a report that highlighted the positive outcomes for her
- The Board approved the ALIA Strategic Plan 2010-2015
- ALIA will host the ALIA Roundtable 2010: Compelling issues for Australian libraries on 20 May 2010
- The Board noted ALIA’s continuing advocacy on cybersafety and internet filtering
- The Board thanked Gill Hallam and Dianne Walton-Sonda for their work in relation to the Library Technician course recognition project and the final report Library Technician Education in Australia: State of the Nation
- The Board approved the appointment of Ann Ritchie as editor of the Australian Library Journal
- The Board thanked the three advisory committees for their work and for their reports: New Generation Advisory Committee (NGAC), Special Libraries Advisory Committee (SLAC), and Public Sector Information Advisory Committee (PSIAC)
- The Board thanked Jan Richards for her valuable contributions and stewardship during her year as ALIA President
- The Board thanked the three retiring Directors: Michelle Brennand, Philip Keane and Helen Partridge
- The Board welcomed Margaret Allen as ALIA Vice-president (President-elect) and the three new directors, John Bayliss, Andrew Hocken and Julie Rae.
