• ALIA has played a significant partnership role alongside the Inspire Foundation, Google and Yahoo to release a joint statement of Core principles for effective action for a safer internet http://www.alia.org.au/internetfiltering/
• The Board endorsed the Special Libraries Advisory Committee revised Guidelines for Australian Special Libraries. The Board commended the work that was done by this committee and the special libraries community at large, noting that a major milestone had been achieved and that the work was outstanding.
• The Board considered and awarded a Fellowship nomination
• The Board was advised that ALIA National Office is considering the most effective means of distributing the ALIA Annual Report in years to come and will be canvassing the membership to determine whether reports are preferred in hard or soft copy
• The Board approved reverting the copyright for the Australian Dictionary of Acronyms and Abbreviations to the monographs editor David L Jones.
• The Board was advised that the Research and Publishing Committee would be focusing on a review of ALIA's research strategy to establish a greater research platform for ALIA's membership
• ALIA is encouraging nominations for the ALJ editorship as well as positions on the ALJ Board, http://www.alia.org.au/publishing/alj/ and also has 2 vacant executive level positions at ALIA National Office http://www.alia.org.au/employment/vacancies/index.html?start=20.
• Abstract submissions for ALIA Access 2010 are now closed.Fees and charges information will be released shortly.
• An ALIA House committee has been formed to manage this major asset of the Association.
