- The Board discussed course recognition and recognised its importance in maintaining professional standards
- The ALIA Research & Publishing Standing Committee presented the Publishing Action Plan report and the Board endorsed its recommendations
- The Board congratulated the two conference committees, ALIA Information Online and the ALIA New Librarians Symposium (NSL4), for the countless hours they volunteered and the very successful conference outcomes
- The Board thanked Derek Whitehead for his valuable contribution and his wise counsel during his year as ALIA President
- The Board thanked the two retiring Directors: Damian Lodge and Katy Watson
- The Board welcomed Graham Black as ALIA Vice-president (President-elect) and the two new directors, Gillian Hallam and Kate Sinclair
