- Member survey being released this week. The Board looks forward to the results to enable decision making in 2009 and beyond.
- Professional Development still remains a topic of further discussion out of the final NAC report.
- There are a number of new staff members - John Fletcher has been appointed as the new external member to the FARM committee
- International School library month - a joint media release with ASLA has been released
- ALIA Public Libraries Summit work is progressing well. Website available soon with more information.
- Policies will be reviewed in 2009 through a process of calling for comments from members via inCite and e-lists
- 'Advisory Committee Guidelines' consultation process to begin
- LIW theme for 2009 selected - with thanks to the LIW Working Party for their excellent report and recommendations.
- ALIA's investments have been affected by the downturn in the financial markets. The conservative nature of our portfolio has meant that our losses have been somewhat minimalised. An article about finances will be included in the next inCite.
