Item 8.2

• An extensive planning discussion was held and the Draft Goals and Strategies for 2009 and beyond were reviewed. The main theme of the outcomes was enhancing the focus on member needs.
  

In addition to the 2008 Goals, information on strategies and action plans will be placed on the planning webpages.

• Online voting for 2009 ALIA Elections
  

  The Board approved in principle online voting for the 2009 elections to make voting simpler and improve participation. The Governance Standing Committee will monitor this project.

  
  
  
• Your Voice : NAC 2008
  

  Main Discussion Topic: Staying smart in a complicated world - Professional Development. Directors are looking forward to meeting with members at regional NAC meetings in July. All members are also invited to the final NAC meeting at Dreaming08.

  
  
  
• MOU and partnerships
  

  Draft MOU with SLA to be finalised and signed. Draft MOU with RMAA discussed. Further discussions with Executives of both organisations will be arranged.

  
  
  
• ALIA supports the ACOC Seminar, Towards RDA, on 24 October RAILS 5 in Sydney in January 2009.
  
  
• Next Board Meeting will be Monday, 14th July in Brisbane
