  • Peak Bodies 2008

    Papers from Peak Bodies will be available from http://www.nla.gov.au/initiatives/meetings/peakbod/
    Peak Bodies support indicated strong support for the outcomes of the ALIA Education and Workforce Summit, and in particular agreed to provide practical support to career fairs to highlight working in the library and information industry



  • 2008 ALIA Election results

    The Board noted the low number of votes received.



  • Advisory Committees

    Members were appointed to Advisory Committees and Committee Chairs assigned. The ALIA Executive Director will be in contact with all members who nominated for Advisory Committees in the next few weeks.



  • The Board approved the Executive Director to vote on behalf of ALIA to changes to the IFLA Statutes

  • ALIA Education and Workforce Summit. Interim report available at http://www.alia.org.au/education/summit08/

  • Improved communication between educators and employers will be fostered, as one of the many outcomes. Action plans will be put up onto the Summit website over the next few weeks.

  • The ALIA Conference Manual has been finalised. This will now be made available on the ALIA website.

  • Members of the Board were assigned to the five Standing Committees.

  • The Board discussed several strategic partnerships with other library and related organisations.

  • Farewell to outgoing President, Roxanne Missingham and welcome to Derek Whitehead (President) and Jan Richards (Vice-president)
