ALIA Board of Directors

The ALIA Board of Directors is the elected policy-making body of the Association. There are eight members of the Board, seven of whom are elected: the president, the vice-president, five elected directors.

The President, Vice-President and four Directors are elected by the membership at large; one Director is elected by institutional members. The ALIA Executive Director is the eighth (non-voting) member of the Board.

All voting directors must be personal members and represent the interests of the organisation as a whole, rather than those of a particular constituency. Terms of office are for two years with a maximum of two consecutive terms.

The Board may also meet by teleconference or resolve matters electronically as the need arises. Members and group representatives may forward items for consideration by the Board to the Executive Director (please remove '.nospam' from address).
