EL 1, Senior Applications Developer

  • As the leader, or member, of a project team undertake the development of web-based systems

Work in an innovative environment on interesting and challenging projects for a leading cultural organisation. Up-to-date tools and methodologies, including Java, Ruby, Agile, TDD and mobile development.

  • As the leader, or member, of a project team undertake the development of web-based systems.
  • Provide direction on, and contribute to, the maintenance and continual improvement of production services, development environments, system architectures and operational procedures.
  • Mentor and coach less experienced developers.
Extensive experience as a senior applications developer working on digital library projects is required, with mentoring/coaching experience and the ability to lead and manage a technical team. A sound understanding of software development and project management methodologies is also required, with software project management experience well regarded. A degree in information technology or the equivalent is highly desirable.
