INNOVATION/IMPACT/LEARNING

CONNECT: UOW LIBRRAY

The Library’s outstanding reputation for excellence is more than just talk. You can expect access to high quality scholarly content, with collections boasting in excess of 120,000 journal titles (mostly all full-text, online), 100,000+ ebooks and around half a million print publications, a commitment to the discovery of UOW research with our mature institutional repository, plus much more. But it’s our commitment to exceptional service, focussing on the unique needs of students and staff that set us apart.

That’s why we are the only Library to achieve highly recognised awards of excellence such as the Australian Business Excellence Award (2000) and Investors in People – Silver (2011). The students and staff of UOW also give us top marks for our performance as shown in consistently high satisfaction ratings for service.

The University of Wollongong Library is a great place to work with a strong reputation for professional development. If you are highly motivated, have excellent planning skills and are looking to work in a transformational environment, we’d like to hear from you.

This is a role for an experienced manager skilled in the development of Library collections to ensure students, academic staff and researchers have access to relevant and extensive multi-format academic information resources.

To be successful in this role, you’ll use your extensive knowledge of current trends and developments in the publishing, discovery and resource sharing environments. You will showcase your experience in building and sustaining successful vendor and industry relationships to ensure the University community has access to high quality content whether through purchase, subscription or loan.

Demonstrated ability in the efficient management of financial, people and technology resources in a rapidly changing environment is essential. To achieve both the operational and strategic priorities of the Library you will be skilled in motivating, interacting and negotiating with a wide variety of people. In return, we will provide a dynamic work environment that encourages initiative and innovation.
