Overview:
Griffith University is seeking to appoint two Academic Group Services Managers to join our team of information professionals, one for a continuing role and one until the end of 2013. The successful applicant will have a commitment to client focus and will lead staff to deliver quality services and projects for students and scholars in a student centred research intensive university. The positions report to the Associate Director, Information Services (Academic Services).

These are continuing and/or fixed term (9 months), full time positions based at multiple campuses.

The role:
The Academic Group Services Managers will oversee and manage a team of professional staff providing a range of services aligned to Academic Groups. This role involves high level strategic liaison with Deans, Deputy Deans, Heads of Schools and other support areas to identify requirements and manage priorities for academic and research services in relation to learning and teaching and research.

The person:
To be successful in the role you will have proven highly developed skills in engagement at all levels, and in building and sustaining client relationships and managing expectations.

You will have experience and management skills including in the areas of conflict resolution, project management, financial management, performance management, recruitment and selection, strategic and operational planning and change management. The ability to initiate new and innovative approaches to foster continuous improvement in relation to services that support academic and research activities is integral.

You will be highly motivated and adaptable with highly developed written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated knowledge of information management and research activities in the discipline areas of Creative Arts, Humanities, Law or Science and Technology will be an advantage.
