The Library requires a talented leader for its Database Services Branch, which is responsible for the development, management, and quality of the National
Bibliographic Database (NBD), a core component of Libraries Australia, which serves 1200 member libraries. The Branch is also responsible for the Libraries
Australia Document Delivery Service.
The occupant will be required to work with major contractors (including OCLC, the provider of the CBS system used for managing members’ bibliographic and
holdings data, and the VDX system used for managing document delivery requesting), and with the Library’s Information Technology Division which supports
other Libraries Australia systems.
The occupant will need to liaise with a broad range of stakeholder groups, including Libraries Australia User Groups, and bibliographic and related
standards groups.
