Digitisation Librarian or Library Technician - South Australia

Our client - a major Federal Government Department - is seeking a qualified Librarian or someone with Federal Dept of Defence administration or records experience to work on a digitisation project in Adelaide. The project involves digitising reports from hardcopy of microfiche, and storing this data to an online repository. The project tasks also includes collating and cataloguing of external publications i.e. journal articles and conference presentations.

As a team member of the digitisation project, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to organise and prioritise your work, and the ability to solve routine problems. You will possess well developed communication and interpersonal skills and have a very high attention to detail and accuracy.

The successful candidate will have experience in scanning hardcopy and microfiche material - or the ability to pick up these skills quickly - and experience in cataloguing or database maintenance or electronic document management.

However - you must already have security clearance to Defence Negative Vetting 1 (secret) to be considered for this project. The starting date will be in early July and this is a three month contract – with a possibility of extension.
