The Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) is our professional organisation for the Australian library and information services sector. It
seeks to empower the profession in the development, promotion and delivery of quality library and information services to the nation, through leadership,
advocacy and mutual support.
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate leader for the position of ALIA NSW State Manager who can articulate, facilitate and drive this vision.
In this exciting and challenging role you will be:

Lobbying for our profession

Promoting ALIA and benefits of membership

Developing State wide opportunities

Facilitating links between ALIA, the profession and the community, and

Encouraging, mentoring and organising professional development opportunities
To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate:

Charismatic leadership that inspires, influences, engages and motivates

An in-depth understanding of our profession and the contribution we make across all industry sectors

The ability to communicate ALIA’s vision to a wide range of audiences

Relationship building – to connect, network and facilitate knowledge sharing

Formal qualifications in information management and industry experience
This role is part time, and you would be based from a home office. Hours will vary and will include attendance at events held outside normal business
hours, but will average one day per week.
