- Undertake duties relating to storage, maintenance and delivery of the Library’s collections and/or provision of the Library’s interlibrary loan and document delivery services
- Within clear guidelines liaise with staff and other functional areas of the Library as required
The National Library is seeking people with demonstrated operational and technical knowledge in storage, maintenance and delivery of library materials. The
successful applicants will have effective liaison, communication and interpersonal skills, will be motivated and flexible, and will be capable of making an
effective contribution to the achievement of corporate goals in a team environment.
The position involves undertaking activities relating to storage, maintenance and delivery of Library collections from a closed stack environment and/or
the Library’s interlibrary loan and document delivery services and can be physically demanding. The successful occupants of the positions must possess the
physical capabilities to effectively perform the tasks which may include carrying out PC based tasks; packing and unpacking library materials; lifting
material weighing up to 10 kilos; pushing trolleys; retrieving material from high or low level shelving; and photocopying/scanning printed material. Some
of these tasks may involve the use of a footstool and bending or reaching above shoulder height. All furniture and equipment meets relevant WH&S
standards.
The position/s are for ongoing/non-ongoing, full-time/part-time employment and may involve weekend work. Candidates must indicate in their application
their preference for type of employment and their preference for working as Stack Attendant and/or as Document Supply Officer.
