The Senior Liaison Librarian, coordinates the provision of high quality library, learning and study skills support and information services and resources
to the institute’s students and staff, in accordance with institute policy and service standards.
As a team leader, the Senior Liaison Librarian supervises a team of seven (7) Liaison Librarians and two (2) Learning Skills Teachers, and as a member of
the Library leadership team provides input into decisions, goal setting and achieving Library and Learning Centre’s objectives.
The Senior Liaison Librarian reports to the Manager, Library and Learning Centre and has responsibility for leading the following activities and delivery
of the following key tasks:

Providing leadership to, and supervision of, Liaison Librarians and Learning Skills Teachers by managing timesheets, allocating projects and tasks,
maintaining rosters and assisting in recruitment.

Training Library and Learning Centre staff in related duties.
- Liaising with Directors of School to develop a deep understanding of their discipline areas and maintain effective two way communication.

Developing, delivering and evaluating information literacy, learning support and study skills programs.

Evaluating and developing Library and Learning Centre information resources in assigned areas to ensure that they are current and reflect student and
teacher needs and Library guidelines.

Planning and managing the collection development budget across all Schools.

Undertaking liaison, reference and information literacy and study skills duties as required.

Preparing statistical and management reports.

Participating in various Library and Learning Centre, directorate and institute forums and committees as required and contributing to planning processes.

Taking a leadership role in the identification and implementation of projects as required.

Taking a leadership role in the delivery of the Library and Learning Centre annual program and other promotional and marketing initiatives.
Mandatory Qualifications

An undergraduate degree in Library and Information Studies or equivalent which allows eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Library and
Information Association, in conjunction with at least 4 years’ subsequent relevant experience in an academic library
Desirable Qualifications
-
Completion of, or currently enrolled in, higher degree studies in areas of direct relevance to the reference/liaison role – library science, information
technology or management and/or a qualification in adult learning.
