The University Library is part of Melbourne Students and learning and is organised into several programs: Collections, Information Management, Scholarly
Information and eScholarship Research, employing a total of more than 250 staff.
This position has a leadership role in the Acquisitions Team which is in the Collection Development Section of the University Library. The position is
responsible for ensuring the availability of a large collection of subscription resources that support the University's scholarship, research and
administration.
Working in an environment that is complex and changing, you will need to be flexible, able to think laterally and have the ability to solve often complex
problems. Leading a team of six staff and liaising with customers, suppliers and colleagues, effective interpersonal and communication skills are required.
An excellent understanding of the types of electronic resources used in a large academic library is required. In addition, a good grasp of financial
processes including invoices and statements, an understanding of licence terms and conditions for electronic subscriptions and databases and familiarity
with open URL link resolvers are essential.
