Multiple Positions
The Library Technician reports to the Team Leader (Customer and Technical Services) and works as part of a team to provide high quality customer, lending
and technical services to the Institute’s students and staff in accordance with Institute policy and service standards.
Main duties:
- Perform all library functions and duties in Customer and Technical Services, including cataloguing, acquisitions, stocktaking and shelving.

Create and maintain library management system records.

Provide Inter-library loan and document delivery services.

Record off air television and radio broadcasts.

Prepare library displays and exhibitions.

Deliver high quality customer service to assist clients with general enquiries, locating resources, basic reference and assignment help queries, wireless
and PC access including printing, copying and scanning.

Conduct library tours and orientations as required.

Participate in the development and delivery of Library and Learning Services’ annual program and other promotional and marketing initiatives to ensure
client awareness and usage of services and resources.

Contribute innovative ideas and participating in the development, implementation and review of library policies, procedures and projects that support a
culture of continuous improvement through team work.
Qualifications

A Diploma of Library and Information Services or equivalent which allows eligibility for Library Technician membership of the Australian Library and
Information Association is required.
