The University Library is part of Melbourne Students and learning and is organised into several programs; Collections, Information Management, Scholarly Information and eScholarship Research employing a total of more than 250 staff.

Collections requires a Deputy Curator, Special Collections to work closely with the Curator, the team and across the Library system to build and maintain its Special Collections, comprising of more than 200,000 volumes of rare Australian and European materials.

The incumbent is required to have experience in curatorship of and/or significant knowledge of rare books and a capacity to work constructively with staff, students and the academic community. In addition, you will have an adaptable approach to work, a good knowledge of new technologies to ensure improved access to collection materials, and the ability to negotiate with donors and benefactors.
