Council comprises an area of 10,440 km2, employs about 500 staff, operates 5 administration centers, 10 works depots and serves approximately

The purpose of the position is to:
- Provision of efficient and effective reference and reader services to library users as part of the Clarence Regional Library network

To support the Team Leader (Libraries West) in the day-to-day operations of the Grafton Library
-
To provide local studies/family history services for the Clarence Valley community and
-
provide professional advice to the Clarence Regional Library in relation to collection
development.
To be successful in the position you will need:
-
Diploma of Library and Information Services (Library Technician Studies) or other qualifications recognised by Australian Library & Information
Association; or equivalent relevant industry experience
-
Class ‘C’ Drivers Licence
-
Experience working in a library environment
-
Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver small projects
-
Demonstrated organisational skills, the ability to organise the duties of staff and to prioritise daily tasks
-
Sound written, oral and listening communication skills, including interpersonal skills that enable cooperative dealings with people from different
backgrounds and age groups
-
Sound computer literacy in email and internet programs, including the ability to undertake web based searches, and Basic Proficiency in Microsoft Word
-
A demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of Work Health & Safety requirements
-
Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and to manage challenging behaviours
-
Consultative manner and committed to a team-based approach, with demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
-
Ability to adapt and be flexible in an environment of continuous change
