AFTRS is Australia’s national screen arts and broadcast school, located in a purpose built facility in Moore Park which includes office space, technical
areas and studios. It is a Commonwealth Statutory Authority and a self-accrediting higher education provider.
The AFTRS Jerzy Toeplitz Library serves our staff and students and supports the Australian screen arts and broadcasting industries. It is open to the
public and holds a comprehensive collection of training and research resources related to film, television, radio and emerging technology production both
from Australia and overseas.
We are seeking a Post-Graduate qualified librarian with experience in managing all aspects of a specialist library (or specialist element within a large
library) for this newly created role. As the AFTRS Librarian you will lead a small group of committed professionals in providing a service that supports
and enriches the learning environment.
The key challenges are to:

drive the Library’s continuing evolution into a contemporary centre blending traditional and new technological practices;

focus on increasing national access and digitisation;
-
liaise closely with teaching staff to best support the curriculum, and
-
actively assist identified AFTRS research.
To be successful you must be proactive in developing and implementing strategies, have a strong understanding of Library based technology and innovation
and the ability to foster productive relationships. Knowledge of research and resources in the arts/media field would be an advantage.

This ongoing position can only be offered to an Australian citizen or permanent resident. The AFTRS Librarian will be required to successfully complete a
