Our contemporary libraries are the hub of the local community and provide information, recreation, learning, culture and social inclusion to the community. With a strong focus on social learning and growing the love of reading, they also significantly enrich the lives of the people living in the community.

We are currently looking for an innovative and enthusiastic leader who shares this vision to lead the library team at our Coopers Plains Library. You will be committed and passionate about delivering contemporary public library services and initiatives to meet the ever changing needs of this community. To ensure the delivery of this vision to the Coopers Plains community, you will lead and work closely with your team, collaborate with other team leaders and enlist the assistance of specialist coordinators. Your focus will be to deliver excellent customer focused products and services and to ensure your team is kept up to date with the latest library methodologies and trends. Consequently, staff professional development is a key part of your role.

Additionally, you will also be responsible for managing all aspects of your library including print and 'e' collections, outreach and asset management.

You will need to have:

• substantial experience in the management and delivery of modern library services including facility, project and resource management
• a strong track record of increasing library patronage by implementing programs that engage the community and ensures high library visibility
• a sound understanding of customer service and experience in creating a high functioning customer service environment
• a passion for libraries and reading
• strong leadership skills and experience in all aspects of managing performance and leading a team in a library setting
• extensive understanding of the role of a modern public library and capability to meet the needs of residents and diverse communities both now and in the future
• well developed skills in collection development and maintenance and in providing services that utilise collections, print and 'e' formats, online resources and databases.
