About the role:

The position of Faculty Librarian and Team Leader (Arts and Sciences) has become available and is located within the Learning and Research Services Department, which provides a wide range of services and resources supporting academic research, learning and teaching as well as collection development. This is a leadership and management role, partnering and working closely with our academic and student communities to sustain and develop excellence and the provision of world-class information services.

The Faculty Librarian provides leadership and direction to a team of Learning and Research Services Librarians, who deliver high-level services and support both online and face-to-face.

About the person:

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified library professional, eligible for membership to the Australian Library and Information Association to lead this key area and join our vibrant and forward facing Library team. You will be excited by the opportunity to proactively lead a team of staff and work in a responsive way with high profile academics to develop quality, cutting edge support services to match the evolving needs of the University’s Faculties.

You will have leadership experience, especially within a changing environment. You will have an extensive knowledge of current and future applications for information technologies – and you will be able to identify opportunities for innovation, enabling strong relationships to be established and developed with the University community. Previous experience working in information services in an academic or research library would be advantageous.

This position would ideally suit someone who wishes to retain their career focus while also having the desire for a life-style change in beautiful Armidale, New England. Armidale is surrounded by world heritage national parks, is only two hours from the mid north coast and is a unique regional centre that offers all the facilities of a much larger city. salary$71,563 to $80,126 per annum (HEO Level 7) plus 17% employer superannuation and optional salary packaging
