This technology underpins a shift in focus from traditional hard copy resources to support for technology enabled learning.
Within the Library, the role of the Library Services team is to deliver client focused services utilising new and emerging technologies in line with University strategic directions for a blended learning and research experience.
The Role
As a Library Discipline Group Leader you will lead a team in the development and implementation of a range of information and research programs, services and resources within a designated discipline. Reporting to a Library Services Manager, you will contribute to building partnerships with faculty and learning & teaching staff and other stakeholders to ensure your team supports the research, teaching and learning goals of the University, builds a collection that meets client needs and embeds information skills within the curriculum.
Your knowledge of trends in research and information service provision, an in depth understanding of client needs and expectations and an aptitude for exceptional client service is essential.
Day, evening and weekend shifts will be required.
Selection Criteria
- Degree or equivalent experience in library, information science or related discipline
- Skill and experience in supervising and/or leading a team.
- Skill and experience in implementing evidence-based programs, products or services
- Skill in analysing and finding solutions to client information needs
- Skill and experience in developing and managing relationships with key stakeholders and clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
