  • Provide customer focused reference services in reading rooms and through online reference services, including answering more complex reference enquiries.
  • Contribute to the expansion of state of the art information services, through development of the website, social media and learning programs.
  • Work within a flexible team structure and provide supervision and training of staff as required.

The National Library is seeking one or more energetic and committed persons with highly developed expertise in providing reference and information services to researchers and the general public, and with experience in the development and delivery of tools to assist information seeking by adults.

The National Library is open on both Saturday and Sunday and until 9.00pm on Monday-Thursday. These part-time positions of approximately 15 hours per week will involve regular evening and weekend work. A typical work pattern would be two evenings a week (5.00pm-9.00pm) and every second Saturday from 8:45am-5:15pm.

Duties include answering reference enquiries and desk duties, and the supervision of the Library’s reading rooms. Relevant professional qualifications and experience are required.
