PD Scheme - recognition in the profession

Participation in the ALIA Professional Development (PD) Scheme will give you recognition within the profession through using the Certified Practitioner (CP) post-nominal, by attaining your revalidation Certified Practitioner Certificate and by meeting the criteria to become an Associate Fellow.

Certified Practitioner

Certified Practitioner (CP) status

The Certified Practitioner (CP) post-nominal is recognised and respected within the sector and demonstrates your commitment to professional development.

Use the post-nominal when applying for a new job, add it to your email signature and your business card, use it proudly in all professional contexts!

Certified Practitioner post-nominal

You are eligible to use the additional Certified Practitioner post-nominal (CP) when:

  1. you have participated in the scheme for one year;
  2. you have collected a minimum of 30 points annually; and

As an AALIA(CP) and ALIATec(CP) member, you are recognised by your colleagues, employers and the sector for your level of commitment to the profession. This commitment demonstrates your ability to remain current and adaptable to change in our dynamic environment.
