Career choices for Library Technicians - where to from here?Capra Ryan will cease delivery of the Library and Information Services package after the 1st June 2010. If you were a student of that training organisation, ALIA encourages you to continue your studies with another institution offering the Certificate III, IV and Diploma courses.
Details of those library technician courses available here in Australia that are recognised by ALIA and which you can transfer to are listed at http://www.alia.org.au/education/courses/library.technician.html. Although only the diploma level is indicated on this page as this is the qualification required for Library Technician membership of ALIA, Certificate III and IV level courses are also available. Select the course link to see details of what each institution offers as well as contact information for further enquiries. When you have decided which course best suits your needs, contact the course coordinator to arrange a time for an interview and ensure that you provide an statement of attainment for those units you have completed through assessment or RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) and the grading awarded for each. If you have recently completed your diploma and wish to apply for membership of ALIA, please contact the Education Manager (education@alia.org.au.nospam) (please remove '.nospam' from address) or 1800 020 071 for further details. |
