| course description |
The Graduate Diploma of Information Management offers a progressive and flexible program with a highly competitive fee structure. It is available over one-year full-time or up to three years part-time. The Graduate Diploma of Information Management is offered in partnership between the University of Tasmania and Edith Cowan University. The course offers two ALIA accredited streams: general librarian and information management.
Although most students study at the Hobart campus, it may be possible to study most of the units at the Launceston campus. Students complete three of the eight units in the course through external flexible study delivery from Edith Cowan University.
Students seeking to enrol in the course are required to hold a three year degree from an accredited university.

| ALIA accreditation |
The Graduate Diploma of Information Management (general librarian and information management streams) offered by the University of Tasmania is accredited by ALIA for a period of five years, from 1 January 2010, subject to a satisfactory annual return being provided by the University of Tasmania, and the right of ALIA to reassess the course on the occurrence of what, in ALIA's view, are exceptional circumstances, and in any event, once during that five-year period, and not later than 1 January 2015.
The Graduate Diploma of Information Management (teacher librarian stream) is not accredited. Students completing this stream after December 2009 will need to undertake a Widened Eligibility Assessment with ALIA to obtain professional membership of the association. | Course Advisory Committee | The Course Advisory Committee is made up of local industry representatives who participate in reviewing and evaluating the course material and provides input into current trends in the industry.
The Course Advisory Committee meet twice a year.
