| course description | Available over 1.5 years full-time or the equivalent period part-time. Available externally. A degree or equivalent approved by the University is required for entry. The first year of the course has the same syllabus as the Graduate Diploma in Information and Library Studies. The final semester can consist entirely of a research project (which will be examined and graded in a similar way to an honours degree at undergraduate level) or a choice of optional subject units. Students who have an undergraduate qualification in library studies may apply for this course to upgrade their qualifications. In these cases, the syllabus will be tailored to individual student needs. All students need regular access to computing facilities and the internet. |
| closing date for applications | This course is fee-paying and applications are made to the Humanities Student Services Office at any time for admission in either semester. However, applications from intending on campus international students can only be to commence study at the beginning of the academic year. These applicants need to apply through Curtin International Office. |

| ALIA accreditation | The Master of Information Management (Librarianship) offered by Curtin University of Technology is accredited by ALIA for a period of seven years, from 1 April 2009 to 1 April 2016, subject to a satisfactory annual course return being provided by Curtin University of Technology, and the right of ALIA to reassess the course on the occurrence of what, in ALIA's view, are exceptional circumstances, and in any event, once during that seven year period, and not later than April 2016. |
| Course Advisory Committee | The Course Advisory Committee is made up of local industry representatives who participate in reviewing and evaluating the course material and provides input into current trends in the industry.
The Course Advisory Committee meets at least once a year.
