course descriptionAvailable part-time only. Applicants must have completed Year 12 or equivalent. Applicants over 21 without formal qualifications may apply. This course, aligned with the Museum and Library / Information Services Training Package(CUL04), replaces the Diploma of Library and Information Studies.

Applicants must have successfully completed the Certificate III in Library and Information Services to be eligible for entry into the Diploma.

ALIA accreditationThe Diploma of Library / Information Services is recognised by ALIA until Nov 2014. This course offered by TAFE NSW Riverina Institute of TAFE is recognised by ALIA for a period of two years, from November 2009, subject to a satisfactory annual return being provided by the Institute of TAFE and the right of ALIA to reassess the course on the occurrence of what, in ALIA's view, are exceptional circumstances, and in any event, once during that two-year period, and no later than Nov 2014. (course no: 19027)
Course Advisory CommitteeThe Course Advisory Committee is made up of local industry representatives who participate in reviewing and evaluating the course material and provides input into current trends in the industry.

The Course Advisory Committee meets three times per year.
