Paint The Town R Ea D

There are a number of Paint the Town REaD initiatives underway in NSW. The program started in Parkes over 10 years ago and received Families NSW funding to take it across western NSW a few years later. It is now growing rapidly in western Sydney in Families NSW community hubs at Rouse Hill, Riverstone and St Marys/Mt Druitt.

2nd Annual Bugs Convention : Celebrating the importance of Early Literacy

A convention for Paint the Town Read coordinators will be held in Penrith 1-2 September 2011, but it's not just limited to people already involved in the program--we would very much like to encourage librarians to come along to find out more about Paint the Town Read and to hear a wide range of guest speakers on topics such as early childhood development and literacy, engaging young children with books and reading, and supporting families to read together in the home.
