ATSILIRN Bursary 2008

ALIA is offering a bursary package of up to $1 500 and one year's membership of the Association to assist a person of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background currently working in the library and information sector to attend the ALIA 2008 Dreaming08.

The purpose of the bursary is to enable an ATSILIRN member, who would not otherwise receive funding from their organisation, to attend the ALIA Biennial Conference.

The scholarship is open to applicants of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background who meet the following criteria:

  1. personal financial member of ATSILIRN;
  2. currently work in the library and information sector;
  3. have not attended the ALIA Biennial Conference as a delegate within the last six years; and
  4. outline the expected benefits to their career in LIS and to their organisation and the expected future contribution they could make to the sector as a result of attendance at DREAMING08.

Eligible applicants who wish to be considered for the bursary should send a completed application form [ 56KB doc | 20KB pdf ] by the closing date to the ALIA Executive Director making sure to address all criteria as set out above.

All applications will be considered on merit. The ALIA Executive Director will make a recommendation to the Board of Directors concerning the winner of the ALIA Bursary package.

Conditions

The successful recipient will be required to prepare a report on the conference experience and its benefits for publication in inCite.
