ALIAnet electronic list creation request

ALIA members are welcome to make a request for the creation of electronic mailing lists to suit their group's needs. To create a mailing list, simply read the following information, fill in and submit this electronic form. Please note that the listowner has certain obligations and duties, one of which is to be an ALIA member whilst acting as the listowner!

Another prerequisite for ALIA lists is for there to be a minimum of ten people subscribed to the list by the first month of operation. If this is not attainable in that timeframe, the list will be dissolved [this is because of the administrative load placed on the maintenance of lists that are otherwise better served by ordinary e-mail software].

Note: All fields require information input
List name	['alia' will be the first 4 characters]
A sentence description of the list	no more than 80 characters allowed, including spaces
An owner for the list
Owner's e-mail address
ALIA Membership number
A welcome message to greet new subscribers, in addition to the message automatically generated by the list processor describing how to manipulate the list server	Consider drafting a simple message suggesting what the list is all about and what scope there is for discussion. Text is automatically appended to the front of this text describing the rules of use and where to find out more information [and remove this text first!].
Postings open to all - or controlled by owner?	Open [preferred] Controlled
Send mail to the list normally, or moderated	Normal [preferred] Moderated
Replies received by the whole list, or to original sender	Whole [preferred] Automatic
Notify owner of people joining and leaving the list	Please notify the list-owner
