ALIA Executive Director announced

The Board of Directors of ALIA is pleased to announce the appointment of Sue McKerracher as the new Executive Director of the Association. Sue is well known in library circles as director of The Library Agency, the team managing the National Year of Reading. Over the last four years, Sue has also worked as a consultant for ALIA, state libraries, public library services, local councils, state government departments, several not-for-profits, a publishing house and a university. Sue's appointment will commence from 20 August 2012.

New ALIA Director, Professional Services

ALIA is also pleased to announce the appointment of Janice Taylor as our new Director Professional Services. Janice brings significant senior LIS management experience to this role including a strong history of working within the public library sector. As Director Professional Services, Janice will be responsible for developing and growing ALIA's member offerings in the areas of course accreditation and recognition, professional development and career advice, training services and Copyright and Industrial Relations advice. She will commence with ALIA on 31 July 2012.

Inter-library loan voucher scheme closed

The Inter-library loan voucher scheme has now closed, as of 30 June 2012. Vouchers can no longer be redeemed through ALIA.
