ALIA Biennial Conference Program announced

The draft program for the ALIA Biennial 2012 Conference is now available online. Highlights include fantastic Keynote Presentations from Dr Alex Byrne, Tom Chatfield, The Hon Michael Kirby AC CMG, Ingrid Parent and Mitchell Whitelaw and an exciting Authors' Panel featuring Richard Glover, Anita Heiss, P.M. Newton, Melina Marchetta and Matthew Reilly.

Library and Information Week 2012

Think outside the book has been chosen as the theme for Australian Library and Information Week 2012. LIW will run from 21-27 May 2012. Inspiration for activities and media resources are available. LIW merchandise is coming soon. Keep an eye on the LIW website for details.

National Simultaneous Storytime 2012

ALIA REMINDERS

Information Online - call for papers soon

Start planning now for your contribution to Information Online 2013. Call for papers will be out soon. The conference will be held in the week 11-15 February 2013.

ALIA training - reference services in the 21st century

ALIA training has a wide range of PD on offer throughout the year, with generous discounts for ALIA members. Book in for Reference Services, an online short course covering the various aspects of reference and information services in the 21st century. Maintain your relevance and examine how the online environment has changed the reference process. 7 May - 22 June 2012. Be quick to register by 20 April 2012.

ALIA PD Scheme

The ALIA PD Scheme provides a framework for LIS professionals wanting to plan their professional development and be recognised for their efforts as Certified Practitioners. The PD Scheme is free to a ALIA personal professional members. Register now and any PD activities undertaken from July 2011 will be counted in your 2011-2012 PD year.

ALIA QLD Library Achiever of the Year Award

Nominations are now open for the ALIA Queensland Library Achiever of the Year award. Any individual working in a library or information centre in Queensland, and who is a financial member of ALIA, is eligible for nomination. Applications close 4 May 2012.
