National Year of Reading is launched

As a founding partner of National Year of Reading we couldn't have been prouder when Prime Minister Julia Gillard official launched NYR on 14 February 2012. Throughout the year ALIA will continue to work with public libraries across Australia to make NYR a standout success.

Library and Information Week 2012 and National Simultaneous Storytime

Polling is in and Think outside the book has been chosen as the theme for Australian Library and Information Week 2012. LIW will run from 21-27 May 2012. Keep an eye on the ALIA web site for loads of LIW activities.

Submission on cybersafety

ALIA, with the support of NSLA, has provided a submission to the Joint Senate Committee on Cyber-safety for seniors. We will be attending hearings during March 2012.

Information Online on the move

Brisbane has been selected as the location for the ALIA Information Online 2013 Conference. The Conference will be held in the week 11-15 February 2013. Jane Cowell of SLQ will chair the conference organising committee.
