WA public libraries' funding victory

WA Culture Minister John Day has upped the State Government funding of public libraries from $6.5million to $9million per annum - and better still, the increase is linked to CPI. It's not quite the $11million public libraries would have liked, but it is still an excellent outcome.

Commonwealth Government inquiry into school libraries

ALIA made a submission to the House Standing Committee on Education and Training inquiry into school libraries and was asked to give evidence in Melbourne, at the end of April. ALIA is working closely with the Australian School Library Association, School Library Association of Victoria and other stakeholders.

Updates on the website www.alia.org.au/schoollibraries.
