- September inCite: Batten down the hatches - We're talking about security. What does security mean in the 'third space'? What do you and your staff do to protect yourselves? Your patrons? Your resources? Heck, even the books? What does security mean in the information age? How do you and your staff protect information? Access to information? Historical materials? What challenges do you face in the digital age? Finally, what does security mean in the industry? Do you feel secure in your LIS career? Why or why not? What needs to be done? What has been done? What would you like to see in the future? - Deadline 1 August 2012. Guidelines at www.alia.org.au/publishing/incite/guidelines.html. Submissions to incite@alia.org.au

- NSS/LIW Rundown: here's your chance to shine! This year's LIW and NSS celebrations were incredible, and we want to hear all about it! They need to be high-res (at least 1MB). Please also make sure to let us know if you have permission from the people in the photo to use it for promotional purposes. COMPETITION!!
Being an LIS professional is all about digging deeper - not just getting information, but getting the right information. This month's giveaway celebrates this perseverance. Dust, Donkeys and Delusions, written by Graham Wilson and published by Big Sky Publishing, examines and debunks one of Australia's favourite myths - that of Simpson and his donkey.
For a chance to win a copy of this book, thanks to Big Sky Publishing, let us know in 100 words or less your favourite busted myth - what surprised you? What shocked you? What do you still believe anyways, even if everyone else thinks you're nuts? (here's mine: I never step on a crack in a sidewalk if it is at all possible to avoid it!).
The winner will be chosen by ALIA's Publishing Team and all decisions are final.
Email your answer to incite@alia.org.au by 10 July 2012 and please include your membership number and postal address for prizes in your answer. Good luck!
