NLS2006 competition winner
The lucky winner of the UTS Tips and Tricks competition was Nora Martin, who submitted the following item to the judges. 'Share the conference programme ahead of time with staff of your organisation/library. Give them a list of sessions, workshop and any demonstrations you plan to attend. Provide the URL of the conference web site so they can see the depth and breadth of what the conference has on offer. Be prepared to explain the relevance of the information and solutions, as well as how much this training will cost. Pick up handouts whenever offered. Further, take notes at conference sessions, so that you can share your experiences with your colleagues when you return.'

Why are we still using hardcopy?
My name is Katrina Hughes, and I am a librarian in Sydney. I will be presenting a paper 'Why are we still using hardcopy?', at Information Online 2007. I am surveying the use of hardcopy instead of electronic versions of documents. I would appreciate it if you could take time to participate in the survey, which closes 31 October.

Library technology product reviews
As you might know, Library Technology NOW is a website created to provide library technology product reviews to the library community. Library reviews written for library people by library people. Please check out the website at http://www.librarytechnologynow.org/. As we head into the third year of the project, we are seeking to build a strategic plan to carry us through the next five years. So we are conducting a needs assessment survey to determine what direction to take the project. Please take a few minutes to fill out the survey at the link below.
