Lashlie awarded NZ Booksellers' Choice


He'll Be OK: Growing gorgeous boys into good men by Celia Lashlie, published by HarperCollins New Zealand, has won the Booksellers Choice Award. New Zealand booksellers were asked to vote for the book they most enjoyed selling this year and Celia Lashlie's outstanding book was a clear and popular winner with over 50 per cent of votes.


WA librarian awarded ALIA Fellowship


pic Imogen Garner, University Librarian at Curtin University of Technology, has been awarded an ALIA Fellowship. Fellowships are not easily gained: ALIA and the profession congratulate Imogen on her award. She will be presented with the fellowship at Click06, ALIA's biennial conference, being held 19-22 September, in Perth.

ALIA governance changes


The ALIA Board has given considerable attention to the governance issues this year as part of a review of our organisation. The directors have identified five changes and one implementation issue that, if made, they believe will lead to improvements in the operation of the Board and ALIA. A paper has been prepared on the proposed changes.
